WhatsApp tests new text editor for its drawing tool: Report – Times of India

WhatsApp is a popular messaging service that keeps updating its platform to offer an improved user experience. The Meta-owned instant messaging service not only enables users to send and receive text messages, photos and videos with other users but also allows them to make voice/video calls over the internet, store documents and more. WhatsApp has already rolled out some latest features for its Android and iOS beta testers in 2023. The latest features that the company is currently testing include voice status updates, blocking shortcuts, contact shortcuts in groups and more. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now working on a new design for the text editor available in the drawing tool. The report claims that the messaging platform is planning to introduce three new features to improve the drawing editor.
WhatsApp drawing editor: Availability
WhatsApp’s latest text editor features are currently under development and are only available to some select beta testers. These features are expected to be made available for end users with an upcoming update of the app, the report adds.
WhatsApp drawing editor: Upcoming features
As per the report, the first feature that WhatsApp is testing will enable users to easily switch between different fonts. With this feature, users can switch fonts by tapping one of the font options that will be displayed above the keyboard.
Meanwhile, the second feature that the company is testing will offer users improved flexibility for text alignment. This feature will help users to align the text to the left, centre or right to provide users more control over formatting the text in photos, videos and GIFs.
Apart from this, the third feature will let users change the text background. This feature will make it easier for users to differentiate important text.

WhatsApp’s other upcoming features
WhatsApp has recently started testing another feature that will allow users to send photos in their original quality. The messaging platform is expected to include a new setting icon within the drawing tool header which will allow users to configure the quality of any photo. This feature will enable users to have more control over the quality of the photos they are sending.
