WhatsApp is testing a new way that will let people share files with their friends or close contacts. That’s right, WhatsApp wants to bring AirDrop and Quick Share incarnation of file sharing to its users. Details of this feature being tested came via WABetaInfo earlier this week. File transfer generally works with the help of Bluetooth connectivity between two devices and WhatsApp is also working with this channel.

The messaging app will allow you to share files up to 2GB and you would probably say that sending files via chat using this tool instead could become a popular option among users when it is officially released.

Having said that, the preview of the feature suggests that there are some complicated steps to follow in order to make the transfer. First, you have to shake the phone to start file sharing. Both users will have to stay in the Share Files section of WhatsApp, which is likely to be introduced when the beta and full version are rolled out.

The tipster mentions that they will have to keep the tab open until the transfer is complete. Another feature WhatsApp is ensuring privacy for is offering end-to-end encryption, it will hide the phone number when transferring, and the entire transfer process is not visible to any non-Whatsapp contact around you. Will give.

The messaging app continues to tweak features and bring new interesting features. WhatsApp Web is now able to support status updates and even share it with other contacts on the app. So, if you are running WhatsApp Web Beta version 2.2353.59 on your desktop, chances are you will be able to try out the new status update feature on the platform. You can find Status at the top left of the WhatsApp web interface, right between the Communities and Channels tabs.
