Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal has for the sixth time skipped summons from the Enforcement Directorate seeking investigation in the Delhi excise policy case.

The AAP said the federal agency’s subpoena was “unlawful,” adding that the question of its “validity” was currently before the courts. “The ED should not issue repeated summons but wait for the court’s decision,” the Kejriwal-led party said.

Earlier on Saturday, Kejriwal told the court that he wanted to appear before the Education Ministry on its application in the GST policy but could not do so due to the budget session and floor testing.

“I wanted to appear in court but this floor test came out of the blue. Our budget meeting will continue till the first week of March. You can give me a date after that and I will appear,” he said, appearing via video conferencing Kejriwal said before Chief Justice of the Met (ACMM) Divya Malhotra.

The court accepted the plea of the Delhi Chief Minister and fixed the next hearing on March 16.

On February 14, the anti-corruption agency issued the sixth summons to Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam and asked him to appear before the anti-corruption agency headquarters on February 19.
