New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) Months after Operation Sindoor destroyed terror camps inside Pakistan, Indian security forces are now conducting tri-service exercise Trishul, involving the Indian Navy, Indian Army and Indian Air Force, along the western border with Pakistan.
According to defense officials, this exercise will start on November 3 and will continue till November 13.
Notably, the Indian Navy will jointly lead the exercise with the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.
“HQ Western Naval Command, in close coordination with the three services, will conduct the exercise, which will include large-scale operations in the creeks and desert areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat as well as extensive maritime operations, including amphibious operations in the North Arabian Sea,” an officer said.
Covering the Gujarat coast and the North Arabian Sea, the Army Southern Command, Western Naval Command and South-Western Air Command are the major formations participating in the important tri-service exercise.
Additionally, the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force and other central agencies will also participate in large numbers, further strengthening inter-agency coordination and integrated operations.
The objective of this exercise is to achieve validation and synchronization of operational processes across the three services, enabling joint effects-based operations in a multi-domain environment.
Key objectives include enhancing the interoperability of platforms and infrastructure, strengthening the integration of networks across services, and advancing jointness in operations across multiple domains.
“A major focus of the exercise is to enhance synergy among all forces and validate multi-domain integrated operations in a large and complex operational environment involving large-scale deployment of Indian Navy warships, Indian Air Force fighter and support aircraft along with amphibious components of the Indian Army and Indian Navy including Landing Platform Dock INS Jalashwa and Landing Craft Utility Ships (LCUs),” the officer said.
The exercise will also validate joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW) and Cyber Warfare plans and will involve carrier operations of the Indian Navy conducted jointly with shore-based assets of the Indian Air Force.
It is pertinent to note here that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had last month issued a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that any misadventure in the Sir Creek area would attract a “forceful response” that could change both history and geography.
