West Ham could now do something that no other Premier League side has

West Ham could now do something that no other Premier League side has in history as David Moyes finds himself in a unique situation.

What’s the story?

Well – at the time of writing – West Ham sit 17th in the Premier League, and are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

However, the east Londoners are having a much more enjoyable time in Europe, as they find themselves in the Quarter-Final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Hammers have a fantastic chance of winning UEFA’s newest European competition after winning all ten of their Europa Conference League games so far this season, with KAA Gent standing in their way of a place in the Semi-Final.

Despite the excitement of a first European trophy, the threat of relegation to the Championship still looms large.

If West Ham did manage to win the UEFA Europa Conference League but also suffer relegation from the Premier League, they would become the first English side to ever experience such a thing.

No Premier League outfit has ever won a piece of European silverware while also being relegated in the same season.

West Ham have enough to survive and win UEFA Europa Conference League

In our view, Moyes has enough firepower in his West Ham side for the east Londoners to avoid relegation, while also win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

For example, Danny Ings, Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca represent three quality options in attack, with the latter most notably making a big impact in the European outings this season.

Crucially, West Ham’s fixtures in the Premier League are not too daunting.

The Hammers face the likes of Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth before the end of the campaign, while clashes against Brentford and Fulham are also winnable.

If Moyes can steer West Ham clear of relegation, while also delivering a European title, it would turn an underwhelming season into a memorable one.
