Kolkata, 20 September (IANS) A fast-track district court in Alipurdar district of West Bengal sentenced to stringent imprisonment for 20 years in 2023 in 2023 on Saturday.
The fast-track court also imposed a financial fine of Rs 10,000 on the convicted father. In the case of non-payment of punishment amount, it will be subject to rigorous imprisonment for one and two months.
A police complaint against the convicted father of Shamprala area in Alipurduar district of West Bengal, was filed by her own minor daughter at the local station in January 2023 by her own minor daughter, who was accused of raping her several times.
In her complaint, she said that after her mother’s death a few months ago, she and her minor daughter lived at their ancestral residence with their father.
According to the complaint, some time after his mother’s death, her father was raped for the first time, and after that she committed several crimes.
Although she initially kept quiet, after some time, she decided to bring the case into police notice. After a preliminary investigation, the police arrested the accused father and registered a case against him.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that he physically tortured his dead wife when he was later alive. The same year, the police filed a chargsheet against the accused in the fast-track court in Alipurduar, and then the test process began.
A total of 15 witnesses were recorded during the test process, and finally, the accused father was first convicted and then sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The court has also directed the state government to give compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the victim.
West Bengal had been in the national headlines for the last one year, in many cases reported examples of rape and rape in many cases related to minors.
Last year, in the hospital premises, RG Kar Medical College and a Lady Junior Doctor of Hospital were raped and murdered in the case of the most talked about this count.
