Wes Streeting accused of British Medical Association (BMA) Acting like “moaning minnies” On doctors’ strike.
Speaking to Sophie Ridge on Sky News on Wednesday (December 3), the Health Secretary criticized the union for opposing the Government’s plans to expand online access to GP appointments.
Mr Streeting said 98.7 per cent of GP practices now offer online booking, and patient satisfaction with family doctors has increased from 60 per cent to 75 per cent since Labor took office.
He argued that the BMA should celebrate this progress, but instead it “sat in the corner like a moaning minnow.”
The BMA has confirmed that resident doctors will be on strike for five days in the run-up to Christmas, from 7am on December 17 to 7am on December 22.
