PDP chief Mehboba Mufti on Tuesday urged the government to help owners, shopkeepers, taxi owners and horse owners to struggle to repay the bank loan, as the number of tourists in the state has declined after the Pahalgam terror attack.

He highlighted the importance of welcoming Amarnath Yatris with heat and hospitality, highlighting the tradition of the field of increasing goodwill for visitors. He emphasized the role of local stakeholders in achieving the Amarnath Yatra and promoting the spirit of responsibility and cooperation.

Earlier on 8 June, the Indian Army organized a Gujar-Bakerwal fair at Aishmukam in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, with the support of an NGO, M3M Foundation, which was aimed at supporting the nomadic community before the annual Amarnath Yatra.
Earlier, Anantnag’s Deputy Commissioner, Af Hamid inspected the Nanwan and Chandanwari base camps on Thursday to review the ongoing development works and progress for the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2025.
According to an official press release, DC reviewed the important infrastructure projects executed by various departments, including water power, public health engineering (PHE), roads and buildings (R&B) and other affiliated agencies.
He also inspected the ongoing track clearance operation along the travel route. Special focus was focused on the readiness of essential facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, power supply, housing and health care services.
