We should focus on educational infrastructure for economic development and entrepreneurial undertakings: LG Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone of an auditorium and did upgradation work for the Government Higher Secondary School at Gurha Slathia, Samba.

The upgradation of funds for a new auditorium with a capacity of 500 individuals and upgradation of government higher secondary school has been arranged through donations after the previous visit of the previous governor of Gurha Slatia in February 2025 after local representatives and youth.

“When I visited Gurha Slathia in February this year, the youth here requested a large auditorium of capacity of 500 persons.

But I realized that this would require huge amounts of money and such a system cannot work because the budget has gone to the government and it was not certain whether it would be approved in the budget session. Therefore, I needed to find another way to fulfill this promise. I told the revered Babaji that I should help in upgrading a big auditorium and school. They assured me that this would be done. I am happy and grateful.

I hope the work on the auditorium will be completed in a year. The government’s higher secondary school will also be technically upgraded, ”said the Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor also announced a sports facility in Gurha Slathia, which will be funded through donations.

He congratulated the people of Gurha Slathia and dedicated new projects to local youth.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “I am happy to see that a big dream is being felt today.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the major transformational initiatives formed with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which has brought a new revolution in school and higher education in Jammu and Kashmir.

“There are many examples in the world that suggests that a particular sector was converted into economic powers from resource-class sectors in terms of years and decades, due to large-scale investment in education and skill development of its youth population.

The Lieutenant Governor said that we have ensured equal access to quality education in rural areas and thousands of people were brought back to classes.

He called upon the youth to take advantage of new education and skilling initiative to convert this union sector into innovation, equity center and ensure a bright future for the society.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor also spoke on the revolutionary changes in the areas in Samba and reiterated his commitment to the inclusive development of the border areas of the district.

“Strong border areas protect the origin of the country and serve as the first line of defense. In the last five years, large -scale infrastructure upgradation was observed in the border areas of Samba. Rapid book industrialization also promoted economic growth and integrated the local population in the national mainstream,” he said.

In Gurha Slatia, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted extensive reforms through the UT of Jammu and Kashmir under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The Lieutenant Governor appealed to all the stakeholders to maintain the pace of development and work closely with unity and collective strength and help the administration to build a better present and future of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “We create a self -sufficient, powerful and rich Jammu and Kashmir together and fulfill Samba’s dreams with new confidence.”

The Lieutenant Governor also appreciated the dedication and commitment of the members of the Legislative Assembly, the district administration and the people of Samba, especially for the youth to bring change on the ground and create a strong basis for fundamental change in the society.
