Giving his support to India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he said on Wednesday that India had to respond to what had happened in Pahgam, saying that it is now to the neighboring country how much they want to pursue it.
Speaking to ANI, CM Abdullah emphasized that he had not forgotten the Pahalgam attack on 22 April, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
“At that time, the central government had said that they would answer in their own way. The way India had chosen to respond, it was not only targeting any citizen or military sector in Pakistan, but the areas where people were living for the last 30-35 years, were spreading destruction and chaos in Jammu and Kashmir.”
JK CM said that if people were not killed in Pahalgam, then this day would not have come.
“We were living peacefully. The situation inside Jammu and Kashmir was stable, and tourism was growing. There was a ceasefire in the line of control (LoC). It was not a situation that we had created. We had to answer what happened in Pahgam. Omar Abdullah said that the neighboring country would have to silence his guns.
Abdullah also mentioned that he organized a video conference with district collectors of places near Seema and LoC.
He said, “I have reviewed the situation. I have received some damage from some places, but we are currently collecting reports … I have released funds to the district collectors to deal with any kind of contingency … If we have to vacate citizens, vehicles and ambulances, arrangements have been made for it,” he said.
“We can only hope that all this ends soon. If the guns stop from the other side, the guns here will also stop. Currently, our civilian areas are their primary goals,” JK CM said.
Omar Abdullah further urged the people not to panic and run away from the valley.
“There is no need to panic. There is no shortage of essential commodities, there is no shortage of supply in hospitals of hospitals. The highway is open for traffic. There is no need to fear.
After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian armed forces launched a strike on deep terrorist bases inside Pakistan and Pakistan under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Wednesday morning. Nine terrorist targets were elected and all nine strikes were successful. (AI)
