In Patna, Bihar, 3 October (IANS) Women expressed happiness and optimism after the launch of the Chief Minister’s Roger Yojana on Friday, aimed at promoting the financial freedom and empowerment of women with the aim of promoting the financial freedom and empowerment of women.
Recently launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this initiative provides direct financial assistance to women to help women start their own business or income -generating activities. Beneficiaries across the state have started getting initial assistance of Rs 10,000 through direct profit transfer (DBT).
Talking to IANS, women in Patna shared their happiness and emphasized how the plan is helping them become self -sufficient.
Pinky Kumari, a beneficiary, said, “We are happy after receiving Rs 10,000. I will use this money to start a photocopy business. PM Modi is doing a really good work for women. He is encouraging us to move forward in life.”
Another recipient Sushma highlighted the challenges he had faced earlier.
“I used to do sewing work, but often struggled due to lack of funds. With this money, I started selling lace and sari falls. There was a time when I could not support my family financially, but now, I am able to contribute.”
Tara Devi also expressed similar feelings.
“We are grateful to the support of Rs 10,000. It has given us a chance to start our own business. Earlier, many women depended on their husbands. Now, we are becoming independent. It will not only change our lives, but will also help shape a better future for our children.”
Anju Kumari shared, “We get money just before Diwali, and now I will not have to trust my husband for the festival expenses. I feel more powerful.”
Mukhyamant-Mahahila Roger Yojana is a major initiative of the Government of Bihar, which aims to promote self-employment and sustainable livelihood for women. The scheme provides financial assistance to a woman from each eligible family to help them start a small scale enterprise of their choice. The areas covered under the scheme include agriculture, animal husbandry, tailoring, handicrafts, weaving and other cottage industries.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will initially receive Rs 10,000, with an additional support capacity of up to Rs 2 lakh in future stages. The initiative is community-interacted, in which training and guidance is offered with resource individuals of self-help groups (SHGS). To increase market access, the state government has also planned to develop Gramin Haat-Bazars to facilitate the sale of goods produced by these women entrepreneurs.
The statewide launch of the scheme is being celebrated in districts, blocks, groups and villages, with more than 1 crore women participating in the program.
