“We are going to reach India”: Trump, because he announces a trade deal with Indonesia

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the United States is working on a deal that gives it access to Indian markets. He also announced a new business deal with Indonesia, after which the latter will face a lower tariff rate of 19 percent.

Announcing the progress on the part of India, Trump said, “We are going to reach India. And you have to understand, we had no access to any of these countries. Our people cannot go inside.

Trump said that the United States has reached a business agreement with Indonesia after talking to the country’s President Joko Vidodo, which is also known as Prabovo subiento according to CNN.

Hours after announcing the agreement on Truth Social, Trump told reporters that it asks no tariff on US exports to Indonesia, while the US would impose 19 percent tariffs on Indonesian exports.

“So we made a deal with Indonesia. I talked to his really great president, very popular, very strong and smart. And we did this deal. We have complete access to Indonesia … as you know, Indonesia is very strong in copper. But we have everything to everything. We will not pay a tariff,” he said.

“So they are reaching us in Indonesia, which we had never had. It is probably the largest part of the deal. And the second part is that they are going to pay 19 percent, and we are not going to pay anything. I think it’s a good deal for both sides.

In addition, Trump emphasized that “Indonesia has some great products, and they also have some very valuable earth and various other materials, and they are known for very high quality copper, which America will use.”

In a later post on Truth Social, he said the agreement was “finalized.” However, the Indonesian government had not yet to make a similar announcement at its end till Tuesday afternoon.

According to CNN, Indonesia sent a 20 million USD copper in the US last year, according to data from the US Commerce Department, far behind the top suppliers Chile and Canada, which sent a metal of USD $ 6 billion and USD $ 6 billion in the US last year. (AI)
