For the first time in many years, President Trump has met face to face with President Putin and it is already distinguished.
The last in-person meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump was held on June 28, 2019 during the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, before August 15, 2025.
President Trump literally rolled the Red Carpet and then stood there to welcome and welcome his guest on US soil in Alaska:

In a carefully choreographed moment, Mr. Trump dropped the Air Force footsteps down from the footsteps of his aircraft before a moment, stepping on the American soil for the first time in almost a decade.
Both Mr. Trump and Putin went down from their respective red carpets, along with Mr. Trump waiting for Putin and clapped. Both Mr. Trump and Putin extended their hands and moved, patting each other on the arm and exchanged the words smiling.
Both climbed the stage in front of the fighter jets where they shook hands again. Neither Mr. Trump nor Putin answered questions from reporters. Other fighter jets flew overheads.
In an unusual moment, Putin joined his vehicle, The Beast in Sri Trump, appearing that he had no associates or interpreters. Putin smiled after the vehicle went away.
They then led the “The Beast”, which took both of them together at the peace summit:
