I am not posting this article because I believe some random video on the internet is proof that the Mandela Effect is real.
Hey, I can’t believe that this video is real, it could also be fake.
But that is not the point.
I’m posting this video because these three examples of the Mandela Effect are exactly how I remember things from the 1990s.
I remember all three of them well and this video shows all three of them very well.
Maybe you remember one or two or even three of them?
But according to the official story, none of these three things ever existed as such (this is the gist of the Mandela Effect, more on that below if you’re not familiar).
First look at this:

Here’s a better look at the VHS tape as I remember it:

Heck, I remember we had this VHS tape in the 1990s.
I have vivid memories of being in my living room and I can still see the picture in my mind where this VHS tape sat on our shelf.
But now they say it never existed?
I also clearly remember the Fruit of the Loom cornucopia logo:

But now they say that he also never existed.
And thirdly, maybe I’m not paying close enough attention or not really focusing on every letter of the word due to being a kid, but I’m pretty sure I remember Berenstain Bears, not Berenstain Bears… How about you?
If you’re not familiar with the Mandela Effect or want to go deeper, keep reading…
Have you ever heard of the Mandela Effect?
Have you ever experienced this?
I have been wanting to write about this for a long time and finally today I am getting a chance to do so.
Many of you may have heard of the Mandela Effect before, but I imagine it may also be new to many of you.
Even for those who are familiar with it, I’m sure there will be some new information for you in what I’m about to show you…
Let’s start with the most basic question: What exactly is the Mandela Effect?
Basically the idea is that there are many examples of shared false memory.
Let me break it down…
We all remember the wrong things from time to time.
We forget where we have left something…
We get the details wrong or can’t remember them…
This is one reason why “eyewitness testimony” is so notorious.
In study after study, researchers have shown that eyewitness testimony is consistently inaccurate and contradictory.
Have you ever seen this video?
This may blow your mind:
So there is no doubt that we do not all have perfect memories, certainly not in the long term and often not even in the short term.
Hey, if we all had our memories right we would have all gotten an A+ in every class we took in school!
Of course this is not the case, but that is not what makes the Mandela Effect so strange.
The awkwardness comes because we’re not just talking about bad memories or remembering things incorrectly, we’re talking about shared false memories.
It’s one thing for a person to have a false memory or hallucination…
But it is extremely rare, if not impossible, for dozens, hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people to have an equally shared false memory or hallucination.
And that’s exactly what the Mandela Effect is.
It all started with its namesake, Nelson Mandela.
Millions of people are adamant that they remember his death in prison in the 1980s, but it turns out that was not the case. He died peacefully at home in 2013 after serving as President of South Africa following his release from prison.
And once people started talking about the shared false memory of his death in prison in the 1980s, people began to realize that this was not the only example.
There are literally hundreds of shared false memories that are really confusing people.
I’m going to show you a list of 100 of them and I want to know which one of them you will like.
If you’re like me, most of these won’t be things you remember (or “misremember”) and some will seem like they might have obvious explanations for how something may have warped over the years and decades almost like a giant game of Telephone.
But if you’re like me, there will be 5 or 10 on this list, or maybe just a small handful, that will stop you dead in your tracks and make you say there’s no way that’s true. There’s no way this isn’t the (false) way I remember it!
And that’s what makes it so compelling.
So now I give you a list of 100, and I will put in red the ones that I absolutely 100% remember are true:
