Among several photos and video clips, one of the script reading clips went viral on social media and left the entire cast in tears. This exciting moment sparked curiosity among K-drama fans about the show’s storyline and its potential for emotional depth.

“Oh wow they got emotional/crying while reading the script??? I’m not ready for the pain,” one user said.

Another viewer commented: “Most people were actually crying, I think that scene was quite touching.”

Noting the cast’s reactions to each other, one viewer said, “They’re not laughing at each other’s crying faces… cuties.”

After these clips attracted the attention of fans online, the production team of the show said: “Their first chemistry was so perfect and unbelievable. Everyone on the set laughed and cried that day. Please look forward to their work.” Koreaboo reports.

Described as a healing love story, “Midnight Studio” revolves around Seo Ki-joo, a photographer at Midnight Studio, a night-only photo studio that provides services to lost souls. Although Seo Ki-joo has the ability to communicate with ghosts, he suffers from insomnia, anxiety, and due to a curse, his life expectancy is only 35 years.

Han Chun, a once successful lawyer facing financial difficulties, believes she can change Seo Jizhu’s fate. Together with studio employees Go Assistant Manager and Baek Nam Koo, they formed a partnership that intertwined their lives and stories, Koreaboo reported.

While the initial ads and trailers hinted at a comedic tone, some netizens speculated that the show might delve into emotional territory similar to “Tomorrow,” given its focus on death and the grim fate of its male protagonist.

“Midnight Studio” is scheduled to premiere on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10 pm (KST), with subsequent episodes airing every Monday and Tuesday.
