Woman arrested in long-unsolved murder case 34 years after boyfriend was killed in Washington

On March 28, 1990, her husband, Norman Rich, was found dead in their Washington, D.C., home. He was shot.

Recently, the Metropolitan Police arrested his girlfriend Shelia Brown, 66 years old. She lives in Annapolis, Maryland. She is a mother of three children.

Brown was not home when Ridge was killed. Brown reported finding Rich’s body in their bedroom after returning home from running errands. She also claimed that before she left, two men came to the house looking for Ritchie.

Despite a $25,000 reward, the case remained unsolved for decades and police were unable to find the killer. Recently, investigators used advanced technology to revisit this evidence. They found evidence that led to Brown’s arrest.

She was charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

“Detectives never stopped investigating this case,” said D.C. Police Inspector Kevin Kentish.
