Walmart’s website went down Tuesday morning, leaving thousands of shoppers unable to access the site and its apps, according to the company. wall street journal.
Just after 7 a.m. Tuesday, more than 6,500 users reported being unable to access Walmart’s website or appaccording to DownDetector. About three-quarters of the complaints involved mobile apps and another quarter involved websites.
A Walmart spokesperson told reporters: “We experienced a brief power outage early this morning and all systems were restored quickly.” wall street journal.
One of Walmart’s recent investment priorities has been upgrading its e-commerce capabilities to stay competitive with Amazon. Those investments appear to have paid off, with the company’s digital sales last quarter rising 28% compared with the same period last year. Bloomberg Report.
