Planning permission granted for £300m new building ski resortwater park and hotel complex in the south Wales.
The development will include U.K.The largest indoor ski center will be located on the southwest side of the A470 roundabout at Rhydycar West, Merthyr Tydfil.
Plans include a 400m long slope, one of which EuropeThe longest year-round ski facility.
It will also feature an indoor tropical water park with water slides and an artificial beach, a 418-room hotel, 30 woodland lodges and a conference center.
Mercer Tydfield Council’s Planning, Regulation and Licensing Committee voted to approve Reddika West Development Project January 7th.
All members of the committee voted against the recommendation to reject the application.
The Welsh Government previously announced the planning application in November Won’t be called inleaving the decision to local planning authorities.
Councilor Brent Carter, leader of the council, said: “Rhydycar West is undoubtedly ground-breaking and a game-changer for Merthyr Tydfil, complementing the cycle park’s offerings WalesZip World and Rock UK climbing centre.
“This project will significantly support and boost our economy and provide multiple opportunities for generations to come.
“The support for Rhydycar West has been truly overwhelming. I’m personally very excited.”
The resort is also expected to be british teamof Winter Olympic and Paralympic teams.
