New Delhi, Oct 29 (IANS) Vice President CP Radhakrishnan shared emotional reactions from supporters and well-wishers in an emotional moment on Tuesday, saying he was “blessed to have the blessings of his mother” during his visit to Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing the Ex, the Vice President wrote: “Blessed to have the blessings of my mother in Tiruppur today.” He also shared a picture in which his mother is seen blessing him.
Radhakrishnan, who is visiting the area as part of a series of public events and community outreach programmes, took a brief break from his busy schedule to visit his family home. The journey, filled with warmth and simplicity, was highlighted by his touching gesture of seeking his mother’s blessings – a tradition deeply rooted in Indian culture.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Vice President urged citizens to work with dedication and unity to achieve the national vision of ‘Developed India 2047’.
Addressing the Coimbatore Citizens Forum, Radhakrishnan said both farmers and industrial workers are the backbone of India’s progress and the country’s prosperity depends on their collective strength.
“Modernization does not eliminate labor – it enhances it,” the Vice President said, stressing that the development of agriculture and industry must go hand in hand to ensure inclusive and sustainable national development.
He said that transforming India into a developed nation by 2047 will require determination, discipline and a shared sense of purpose among all citizens.
Radhakrishnan, who started his public life in Coimbatore, arrived in the city early in the day, where he was given a grand welcome, during his first visit after taking over as the Vice President last month.
He landed at Coimbatore International Airport on a special flight from Seychelles, where he had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new President of the island nation.
Tamil Nadu ministers Muthusamy and Saminathan, BJP state president Nainar Nagendran, former state party chief K. Annamalai and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan welcomed him.
