State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare on Tuesday, November 4, said that elections to Maharashtra’s municipal councils and nagar panchayats are to be held on December 2.

According to Waghmare, elections will be held in 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats, news agency PTI reported.

However, the election schedule for 29 municipal corporations, 336 panchayat committees and 32 district councils was not announced.

Counting of votes will take place on December 3, Waghmare said at a press conference in Mumbai.
