New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday congratulated the voters of Bihar on the announcement of the assembly poll schedule, expressing confidence that voters will once again choose the politics of development.
HM Shah’s statement in a post on X came out shortly after the ECI was declared by the ECI that the Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases on 6 and 11 November, the results will be declared on November 14.
The Union Home Minister said, “The Election Commission has announced the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Congratulations to all the people of Bihar for this grand festival of democracy.”
“Under Modi ji, the NDA government has taken Bihar out of Jungle Raj and has given it a new direction of development and good governance. Today, Bihar is seeing historical changes in every field with poor welfare, infrastructure, health and education in every region,” he said.
“I am completely convinced that the people of Bihar will once again choose the politics of development. #Biharelections2025,” said HM Shah.
Earlier, while addressing the media persons, Chief Election Commissioners Gyanash Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, describe Bihar elections as “mother of all elections”.
“We want to assure the voters of Bihar that the elections will not only be exemplary and smooth, but will also be the most peaceful due to special attention to maintaining law and order,” he said.
The 2025 Assembly Elections are the first to be held in the eastern state after the purification of the electoral rolls under a special intensive amendment (SIR), with 7.43 crore voters, including 14 lakh voters, for the first time.
CEC Gyanash Kumar also shared the details and the Sir’s timeline held after the interval of 22 years, saying that the final election role has been given to all political parties.
He said, “The window has opened up to 10 days before the candidates for the upcoming elections filed nomination papers for the upcoming elections,” he said, “he said.
The ECI fixed November 11 as a by-election date for eight assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana, Punjab, Mizoram and Odisha. The results will be declared on 14 November.
