New Delhi, October 8 (IANS) Actor-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilga Vatri Kajham (TVK), have approached the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Madras High Court, who directed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate a special investigation team (SIT) in the Karur stampede-more than a tragic incident and more than 100 injured.
On Wednesday, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) agreed to list the TVK petition, which was filed on October 10 through the authorized representative Aadhaar Arjun for hearing, after which it was mentioned for immediate listing.
In an order passed on 3 September, the Madras High Court criticized the political leadership of TVK for leaving its followers after the deadly incident. Justice N. While observing Santhilkumar’s solo-singer bench, “shocking thing is, the shocking thing is that”
The Madras High Court “strongly condemned the conduct of Mr. Vijay, the organizers of the incident and the political party members, to run away from the scene of the incident immediately after the accidents”.
He said, “In this type of party, it is that immediate steps have been taken to save and assist the persons caught in a stampede -like situation arising out of a large scale, in which many children, women and many young people lost their lives tragically.”
Refusing to proceed on a petition seeking a CBI inquiry, it formed an SIT under IPS officer ASRA Garg to investigate the tragic incident.
The Madras High Court had directed the SIT to conduct a fair and time-to-time investigation and submit a periodic updates.
Earlier on Tuesday, CJI Gawai agreed to list the petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by BJP leader Uma Anandan on October 10, when the case was mentioned for immediate hearing.
