Vijaya Dashmi: Viral Poster Irks Samajwadi Party, Lodges Complaint

Noida, 2 October (IANS) while the nation celebrates Dussehra, an objectionable poster on social media heated the political atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

The matter increased in a large line, as the Samajwadi Party (SP) workers reached the police station in Noida to register an official complaint, angry over the subtle contexts of the society.

The poster, which kicked a line, belongs to the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashmi and has references to opposition leaders, including Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Akhilesh Yadav.

This clearly stabbed its supporters and party employees, who protested at Sector -24 police station and also raised slogans outside the police station. He also submitted a complaint to the police demanding strict action against the accused.

The poster went viral as it was being shared and commented by the score of Neetzance.

The poster portrayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing a dictation (fire ritual), while the caption wrote, “Whenever religion is established, the demons face trouble.”

Apart from this, the poster also had images of opposition leaders, including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, SP President Akhilesh Yadav and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who are reportedly shown as “demons”.

This expressed widespread anger and resentment among SP workers.

A delegation of workers led by SP District President reached Sector -24 police station in Noida. The activists raised slogans outside the police station and said that such posters hate the society.

In a memorandum submitted to the police, SP leaders said that the poster was allegedly made and shared by a young man from Chauras village in Noida.

The complaint stated that the act was deliberately entered into the intention of polluting the atmosphere of the city and spreading political hatred. He demanded that a person should immediately file a case against the person and strict action should be taken.

SP workers further warned that if action is not taken on time, they would be forced to start a broad movement.

The police took his complaint and assured him that an inquiry would be done and action would be taken in the matter.
