Vijay Vadettavar on Maratha Kota is called

Justin, 05/10/202505/10/2025

Mumbai, October 5 (IANS) Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadativarwar on Sunday said on Maratha Kota worker Manoj Jarang Patil, saying that the worker suggests an AA -47 in AK to complete such work to end the OBC category from the state.

Amid increasing tension on the order of the state government for issuing clan certificates to the Marathas and fears between OBC groups, the comment has come forward that the move can carry forward the Marathas claiming reservation under the OBC category.

Gerange went on hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai last month, after which the government agreed to accept six of his eight demands. The OBC community has since expressed strong concern that the Sankalp (GR) of the September 2 on the Kumbi certificates may have paved the way for the Marathas to be included in the OBC list, which can reduce the existing quota.

OBC leaders, including Wadativar, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday (October 4) and submitted a memorandum demanding the return of the September 2 order. He also announced plans for the OBC protest march in Nagpur on 10 October to suppress his demands.

Talking to reporters, Wadettiwar – A Guard of OBC rights – said that the purpose of the meeting is to reverse GR.

“The meeting called by the Chief Minister was to reject the September 2 GR. We presented our side, we told him that this GR is going to ruin the entire 374 OBC categories, they will have a huge loss … Everyone was of the same opinion that GR should be canceled on September 2, but the government tried to convince us that this would not harm this,” he said.

Wadativer warned that the certificate provisions and data are being collected, the Marathas are being presented under the OBC lists.

“The government’s decision clearly indicates that the Marathas will come under the OBC, no one will be released, and in this situation, the OBC community will suffer heavy losses,” he said.

The Congress leader said, “It will not be visible anywhere, it will not be visible in the gram panchayat, district council, local bodies, jobs and education. The Maratha community will take everywhere, and poor people, small community people will be completely ruined,” said the Congress leader.

Personally, Wadativer sang Jarang Patil described as violent rhetoric.

“What kind of policy is this policy while harming the entire OBC?

The Congress leader clarified that his opposition is not for reservation for the poor, but the Marathas are being adjusted within the OBC quota.

“If this happens, the OBC will be destroyed. Where do we go? We will not get any job,” he said.

“Therefore, our demand is to cancel the September 2 GR and cancel all fake certificates given. Along with this, a white paper should be issued on all the clan certificates given since 2015 to make the Maratha community ‘OBC’. This is our demand.”

The government’s earlier engagement with Jarang-Patil gave several concessions after consultation by a cabinet sub-committee headed by Vickel.

Measures accepted to the state include applying Hyderabad (1909) and Satara (1884) gazette entries, which for the convenience of clan certificates for the Marathas in the OBC category; Withdrawing cases against Maratha workers from 2023–24; To compensate the families of the Marathas who lost their lives during the protest, and offered jobs to eligible relatives in state transport and MIDC.
