Chennai, Oct 29 (IANS) Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and actor-politician Vijay has announced that a special meeting of the party’s General Council will be held on November 5 in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, to deliberate on the organisation’s next course of action and major internal decisions.
In a heartfelt statement addressed to party workers, Vijay said that the upcoming meeting will mark the beginning of a new phase in TVK’s political journey after a period of purposeful silence.
He said, “My greetings to the comrades who live in my heart. After a meaningful silence in our political journey, I am writing to talk to you and invite you.”
The actor-turned-politician stressed that the party has successfully countered attempts by its opponents to defame and weaken it. He declared, “Even though the conspirators and conspirators considered us insignificant and accused us, we have fearlessly defeated them all.”
Emphasizing that the time has come to pray for the people of Tamil Nadu, Vijay said the party’s strength lies in its grassroots members – the real “weapons” of TVK – and the unbreakable bond between the party and the people.
“No one can disrupt the bond between us and the people of Tamil Nadu, nor can they disrupt our continued journey to victory,” he wrote, adding that the public has silently testified to the party’s resilience over the past month.
“Even our enemies who dream of defeating us through deceit and strategy are aware of this.”
Vijay indicated that the party will soon unveil key strategies after carefully assessing the ground situation.
“Only when the situation on the ground encourages us should we take our next step calmly, measuredly and decisively,” he said.
Announcing the meeting he said, “In such a situation, the upcoming actions and activities of the party must be discussed. Therefore, a special session of the General Council – the heart of our organization – will be convened at Mamallapuram on November 5 at 10 am. Let us meet, plan decisively and show that the future is ours. True success comes only when good things happen.”
