Vijay convenes TVK’s first general council after Karur stampede

Actor-politician Vijay-led Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) will host its special general council on November 5 to discuss the party’s next course of action ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The special session will be called in a private hotel in Mahabalipuram. The party has officially announced to contest the next assembly elections in the southern state.

Karur Stampede: What to Know?

On October 13, the apex court ordered a CBI probe into the case and said the incident had shocked the national conscience.

The top court ordered that the case deserves an impartial investigation.

In this regard, a three-member supervisory committee has been formed to monitor the CBI investigation. It will be headed by former Supreme Court judge Ajay Rastogi.
