Vijay broke the silence on Karur Stamped, saying that the victims were not visited to avoid the ‘unusual situation’.

Chennai, 30 September (IANS), four days later, when Karur Stamped killed 41 people during his Tamilaga Vatri Kajhgam (TVK) rally, actor-royalist Vijay issued an emotional video message on Tuesday, saying that he stayed away from visiting only “mourned families” to stop “unusual situations” till now.

Vijay said, “I have not faced such a painful situation in my life.” “I did not go from Karur because it will give rise to an unusual situation. I will meet you (families of the victims and the injured) soon.”

He expressed deep grief over the tragedy and said that the truth behind the incident will emerge soon.

Vijay also sent a sharp message to the DMK -led government, when the police booked their party’s associates, including senior leaders boon N Anand and CTR Nirmal Kumar, under several sections for alleged laps in rally management.

“CM sir, if you think of looking for vengeance, you can do anything for me and not touch the men of the party,” he said.

He said that he was ready to face any action. “You can do anything with me.”

On September 27, the 27 September rally in Valusmipuram near Karur became fatal when a large crowd moved towards victory, causing a stampede, killing 41 people, including women and children, and around 60 others were injured.

Police said the organizers had underestimated the size of the crowd and failed to control the entry points, while suddenly power cuts and confusion were reportedly poorly nervous.

Chief Minister MK Stalin, who visited Karur within a few hours of the tragedy, announced relief measures and established a member of a member investigation, headed by retired judge Justice Aruna Jagadisin.

On Tuesday, sources in DMK said the government would wait for the investigation report before fixing the accountability.

Stalin had earlier appealed for restraint, urged the public to avoid spreading rejected claims.

Opponent AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi. Palaniswami (EPS) criticized the DMK government, stating that 41 lost life “serious administrative failure”.

He said that proper security check and coordination with the police could stop the disaster.

The EPS also accused the ruling party of targeting opposition voices while failing to take responsibility for security.

With emotions a high walk, Vijay’s statement is seen as a loss-control to assure supporters and is a direct challenge for the story of DMK on the tragedy.

The state is now waiting for the investigation report which will shape the political outcome of one of the Tamil Nadu’s worst rally disasters.
