The 23-year-old model left the popular BBC reality series, along with pro partner Vito Coppola, at the end of Sunday night’s (November 2) results show, after losing to Balvinder Sopal and Julian Callan.
Goldstein was the first person with Down syndrome to compete in the main series. strictlyperformed a tango to Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra”, while Sople danced a rumba to Shakespeare Sister’s “Stay”.
Goldstein was eliminated from the show by unanimous decision among the judges, although head judge Shirley Ballas said she had been “excellent” throughout the series.
After his eviction, Coppola told Goldstein: “Honestly, I have no words to explain how proud I am of you, and you’ve really changed my life so much. You’ve made me such a better person. Earlier this year, I said to myself ‘Please, please, can you send a beautiful angel into my life?’ and now you [have] arrived.”
He added, “I never had a little sister, but I always wanted one. Now, I have you and you’re my little sister forever, and your big brother is always with you.”

The audience seemed to generally agree with the verdict, with many expressing sympathy for Goldstein.

Goldstein himself spoke positively about the experience, saying: “I’ve enjoyed it a lot! [Vito] He is a kind person and that’s what I wanted from day one. You were very heartwarming, thank you.”
