Video: Police clear Columbia University, enter building through window, arrest many

By | Published | No Comments

As hundreds of New York City police officers entered Columbia University on Tuesday night to clear out an academic building that had been occupied as part of a pro-Palestinian protest, dozens of students were arrested.

Live video footage showed police in riot gear advancing on the campus in upper Manhattan, which has become a focal point for nationwide student protests against Israel’s actions in Gaza. To access the second floor of the building, police used an armored vehicle equipped with a bridging mechanism.

Shortly afterward, officers were observed leading protesters, who were handcuffed with zip ties, to a line of police buses waiting outside campus gates.
