Video: Massive stage collapses in Mexico at Presidential rally, 9 dead

Nine people were killed, and a presidential candidate briefly went to the hospital after a stage collapsed under strong winds at a campaign rally in Mexico on Wednesday.

Candidate Jorge Álvarez Máynez said he was unharmed in the incident, which occurred during his campaign event in San Pedro Garza García in the northeastern part of the country. The governor of Nuevo León state reported at least 54 injuries, with ongoing rescue efforts to save some of the people trapped under the collapsed stage.

Videos shared on social media showed the moment a strong gust caused the stage to collapse. Álvarez Máynez and his team were seen running for cover as the structure, which included a large video screen, fell onto the stage and part of the audience area.
