Residents of Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh were left scared on Thursday when a leopard entered a house in a village. The people inside the house immediately ran to save themselves and hid in a room.
Soon after this the local police and forest department officials were informed.
The officials managed to enter the house and trap the leopard, but when the leopard tried to get out, a cot had to be placed over it.
A Deputy Superintendent got injured in his leg during the rescue operation.
A video from the house shows a trapped leopard and at least ten police officers armed with sticks pinning it to a cot.
The leopard, which was eventually taken away by authorities, died.
Officials said the animal might have strayed into the village from the nearby forest.
