Additionally, Israeli nationals were seen playing with colours, gifting food and clicking pictures at photo spots specially made for the occasion.
During the event, people danced to Bollywood songs and enjoyed a special cultural performance.
Earlier in New Delhi, Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Giron expressed disappointment at not being able to celebrate Holi this year due to the ongoing war in Gaza and extended Holi wishes to all Indians.
“This year, I find it difficult to participate in the joyous celebrations of Holi, knowing that Israeli children, women and men are still imprisoned in the dark tunnels of Gaza. But, for our Indian family, it is a very joyful occasion Holi! Let us celebrate today praying for the victory of good over evil,” he posted on X on Monday.
Holi is the festival of colours, a celebration of energy, joy and, of course, family ties and intimacy. It marks the blooming of spring after a long winter. On the day of Holi, people gather together and apply dry and wet colors on each other.
Many people, especially children, celebrate this holiday by playing with water-filled balloons and water guns. Like any other festival, people also enjoy special Holi delicacies like ‘gujiya’ with each other.
