Mysuru, Nov 9 (IANS) Vice President CP Radhakrishnan on Sunday lauded the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) for its emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and flexibility that empowers hardworking students to adapt and excel.
Speaking at the 16th convocation of the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) in Mysuru, the Vice President urged the young graduates to inspire future generations and contribute humbly but decisively to nation building, in line with the vision of Developed India 2047.
Radhakrishnan underlined the importance of persistence as the key to success, urging each graduate to recognize their unique talents and set personal goals in line with their rhythm of achievement.
Recalling the immortal words of Swami Vivekananda, he inspired the graduates to “Arise, Awake and stop not till the goal is reached” while emphasizing on perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges.
He also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka and the recognition of Kannada as a classical language.
The Vice President also stressed on judicious use of social media, reminding the young graduates to maintain self-discipline and balance their online presence with real-world responsibilities.
He called upon them to respect and pay attention to their parents and adopt positive qualities from others instead of focusing on negative things.
In his valedictory address, the Vice President invoked the ancient wisdom that “knowledge is real wealth”, encouraging the graduates to carry forward the light of knowledge, inspire future generations and humbly contribute decisively to nation building in line with the vision of a developed India 2047.
A total of 2,925 students were awarded degrees, diplomas and fellowships during the convocation ceremony. Sixteen gold medal winners from various academic subjects were also honored by the Vice President.
The ceremony was attended by eminent dignitaries, including Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot; Chancellor of JSS AHER Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji; Former Supreme Court Justice Sri Shivaraj V. Patil and other distinguished guests.
