Bhopal, Nov 7 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said Vande Mataram is not just a song but a living expression of the nation’s consciousness, which lit the flame of freedom in the hearts of millions of people.
He said this while inaugurating the state level ‘Vande Mataram: 150th Commemoration Ceremony’ at Shaurya Smarak, Bhopal.
Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, Commissioner of Police (CP) Harinarayanchari Mishra, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma, Mayor Malti Rai and several other ministers and local BJP MLAs also attended the programme.
On this occasion, he played the national anthem, followed by the performance of the state police band, filling the atmosphere with patriotism. A large number of people participated in this program and raised slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ etc.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yadav said, “Vande Mataram is not just a song, but a living expression of our consciousness, which lit the flame of freedom in the hearts of millions of Indian citizens.”
He said that ‘Vande Mataram Commemoration’ is a unique example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imaginative vision towards national patriotism and preservation of heritage.
Virtual participation was done at the state level in the program ‘Vande Mataram: 150th Commemoration Ceremony’ organized in New Delhi.
To commemorate the 150th year of ‘Vande Mataram’, the BJP government organized similar programs in all 55 district headquarters across Madhya Pradesh.
While the Chief Minister led the program in Bhopal, other cabinet ministers participated in the programs organized in their home districts. For example, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla was in Rewa, Kailash Vijayvargiya attended an event in Indore, Pradyuman Singh Tomar was in Gwalior and Rakesh Singh was in Jabalpur.
