The VHP claimed that the state forest department had named the lions and demanded that the name be changed to ‘Sita’.

According to reports, the two big cats were recently transferred from Saipahijala Zoo in Tripura. Forest officials insisted that they had not renamed the lions and mentioned that the big cats had already been named before their arrival on February 13.
