New Delhi, 30 September (IANS) senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra died on Tuesday morning at the age of 93 in Amaims Delhi.
Born in Lahore in December 1931, Malhotra has worked as a five -time MP from Delhi and a two -time MLA. He served as President of Delhi Pradesh Jana Sangh (1972-75) and President of BJP Delhi Pradesh (1977-80, 1980-84) twice.
In a statement, Meimes said, “Senior BJP leader, a 93 -year -old, Mr. Vijay Kumar Malhotra ji was admitted to AIIMS New Delhi, where he died on the morning of 30 September 2025.”
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva also expressed his condolences and said that Malhotra’s life will continue to inspire the party workers.
Sachdeva said in a statement, “It is very sad that we announce the sudden demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and first president of Delhi BJP. Vijay Kumar Malhotra. He was 94 years old this morning.”
“Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra’s life was an example of simplicity and dedication for public service. He worked extensively to spread the RSS ideology in Delhi since the public. His life has always inspired and we will continue to inspire all of us, BJP workers.”
According to Delhi BJP, Malhotra had an active career in politics, as well as Kedar Nath Sahni and Madan Lal Khurana. The party also credited Malhotra to preserve the BJP in Delhi for many years.
“His biggest political victory is believed to be defeated by former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh by a big margin in the 1999 Indian general election. Malhotra has been a 5-time MP from Delhi in the last 45 years and a 2-time MLA, making him one of the most senior BJP figures in the capital,” reads Malahotra’s profile delay on BJP.
In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, Malhotra was the only BJP candidate to win his seat in Delhi.
