Mega Sporting Event – Vermul Gindo -2025 reached an exciting high on Monday with the finals of volleyball, kabaddi and karate.
The event attracted an impressive crowd of more than 1,000 spectators, reflecting the growing resonance of the festival within the community.
In the volleyball final, the Amargarh Volleyball Club won the boys title after a competitive face-off against the Uri Volleyball Club.
Also, KIC Srinagar defeated KIC Baramullah to win the girls’ championship.
Each match had 28 skilled players, who displayed exemplary athleticism and team spirit.
The kabaddi final of senior men was equally entertaining, as Harmukh warriors defeated United North Kashmir in a high-energy competition, including 24 participants.
Karate enthusiasts also watched intense action with 16 matches and 25 participating athletes.
A football match between Hyder FC and Dash FC kicked Professor Shokat at 5:30 pm at the Professor Shokat Ali Stadium, depicting 24 players and attracted an early crowd of about 200, which kept cheerful as the progress of the game.
Commander 19 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier Rajat Mohan Bhatt was the chief guest on the occasion, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Altaf Ahmed, Vice Principal GDC Baramulla Pro. Tariq Ahmed knife and District Youth Services and Sports (YSS) officer Zahur Ahmed Wani was also present on the occasion.
The day saw the participation of 184 athletes and the strength of more than 1,250 spectators, which outlines the success of the festival in promoting sports skills and strengthening community bonds in Baramulla.
