vice president chairman JD Vance publicly appreciated Health Secretary robert f kennedy junior for him Desire to challenge traditional Supporting unconventional voices in scientific knowledge and healthcare. Speaking at “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) meeting In Washington, DC, Vance asserted that throughout history, “all the experts were wrong.”
During the heated exchange with Kennedy, the Vice President also supported the Health Secretary’s MHA movement, calling it “an important part of our success in Washington.” The endorsement underscores that Kennedy, a divisive figure because of his critical stances on public health agencies and long-standing vaccine skepticism, is now seen as a key catalyst for White House change.
Addressing Kennedy directly on stage, Vance commented: “Of all the specific initiatives that you guys have worked effectively on, the most important one is that your team has been willing to ask questions that people in government have not been asking for a long time.”

The Vance–Kennedy event was broadcast live, but the summit was otherwise off limits to the press.
Even as President Donald Trump and Kennedy disagree on issues ranging from COVID-19 vaccines to abortion, the White House has largely left Kennedy alone this year as he has made sweeping changes to the agencies he leads, including laying off thousands of staffers, firing science advisers and reworking vaccine guidelines.
The Trump administration has praised Kennedy’s efforts to phase out artificial colors in foods, wage a war on ultra-processed foods, and update the National Dietary Guidelines. As Health Secretary, he has said he wants to address the root causes of chronic disease and help Americans reduce their exposure to toxins.
Critics, including some of the country’s leading medical associations, say Kennedy’s disregard for established science is fueling public distrust in mainstream medicine and that his views, once considered frivolous, are growing from his position as Health Secretary. Kennedy and his allies dispute that his agenda is anti-science.
Vance agreed with the fact that many people in Kennedy’s network do not come from traditional medical fields, and some have more experience in business than health. In fact, many of the Health Secretary’s close aides and new staffers have outright rejected the medical consensus on topics including vaccines and ways to cure chronic disease.
“We have to be comfortable challenging some of these old stereotypes and part of that is welcoming people who are a little unusual,” Vance said.
Vance said Kennedy’s interest in disrupting bureaucracy befits a president with a similar mindset.
Vance said, “It’s a good summary of Donald J. Trump that he takes a bulldozer to Overton’s windows every day.” According to Britannica.com, the Overton Window refers to “the range of policies considered acceptable by the majority of the population”.
The MAHA event at a Washington hotel came on the heels of a separate meeting in Austin, Texas, that welcomed many of the same attendees — the Children’s Health Defense Annual Conference, led by the Kennedy anti-vaccine group.
That weekend’s conference, which featured Kennedy’s wife, Cheryl Hines, as the keynote speaker, focused more explicitly on vaccinations, including sessions like “The Enduring Nightmare of COVID mRNA Technology” and “Understanding the Enormity of Vaccine Injury.”
The packed house of Trump administration officials, biotech entrepreneurs, MHA influencers and others on Wednesday included sessions on topics such as how artificial intelligence is being used in health care, reversing aging, making food healthier and more.
MHA Action, the pro-Kennedy group hosting the event, said Trump’s adoption of the movement marked “a turning point in American health policy.”
“Today marks an important milestone,” Tony Lyons, president of MHA Action, said in the release. “This is the culmination of a movement that was 40 years in the making.”
