US woman claims she was 'scolded' by flight officer for not wearing a bra

Angels:

A woman who said she was threatened with being kicked off a Delta Air Lines flight for not wearing a bra demanded a meeting with the company’s top bosses on Thursday to discuss what she said were discriminatory policies.

Lisa Archbold said she was wearing baggy jeans and a baggy white T-shirt without a bra, and claimed she was temporarily escorted off the plane by a female gate agent who asked She covered it up, although her breasts couldn’t be seen.

“It felt like there was a red letter stuck on me,” Archibald, 38, told reporters in Los Angeles of the January incident.

“I felt like it was a scene designed to punish me because she was scolding me outside the plane for not being the woman she thought I was.”

Archibald, a DJ who flew from conservative Salt Lake City, Utah, to notoriously liberal San Francisco, claims Delta staff described her outfit as “revealing” and “offensive.” And airline policy does not allow passengers to travel dressed like this.

However, agents said she could continue her journey if she wore a jacket over her T-shirt.

Attorney Gloria Allred said she has written to Delta on Archibald’s behalf requesting a meeting with the company’s president to discuss the discriminatory policy.

“Male passengers do not need to cover their T-shirts with shirts or jackets,” she said.

“They also don’t have to wear a bra on board or stay on the plane, and women shouldn’t wear a bra either.

“Last time I checked, the Taliban do not control Delta.”

Allred said U.S. federal rules allow airlines to remove passengers who pose a safety or security risk to the aircraft or its passengers, but that was clearly not the case in Archibald’s case.

“Neither her breasts nor any other woman’s breasts were trying to take over the plane,” she said.

“Breasts are not weapons of war and it is not a crime for a woman or girl to have breasts.”

Allred said there are no plans to file a lawsuit and that she and Archibald just want to meet with Delta’s president to make sure their policies are updated.

“Earlier this year, a Delta representative contacted the customer and apologized,” a spokesperson for the airline said in response to an AFP inquiry.
