Corsi’s mother Terri also discovered Mr Barnes’ hand

In 2021, police arrested Brian Cohee after discovering the body of 69-year-old Warren Barnes. The incident, which involved Cohee, who was 19 at the time, sparked a local investigation and was documented in the YouTube channel’s true crime documentary Parents Discover Teen Son’s Horrifying Secret Explore with us.

The heinous crime involved Cosi decapitating, dismembering and dismembering Mr Barnes’ body before taking some of the body parts home, where they were discovered by his mother. His mother told police in a 911 call that the teen was “obsessed with sickness.”

In addition to the head, Mr. Barnes’s hands were found rotting in a separate plastic bag hidden in his wardrobe by Corsi’s mother Terri.

Coshy attempted to put the remaining body parts into the trunk of the car and attempted to drive the vehicle into the Colorado River.

The documentary shows police dashcam footage of the moment authorities arrived at Cosi’s residence.

When police interrogated Cosi at his home, he was asked: “Your parents were concerned about some items they found in your room. Can you elaborate on that?” Cosi calmly replied: “Yes, I Believe it or not. A head and hands, from the missing man. I killed him with a knife.”

When police pressed him further on his motive, Coshy added, “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to commit murder.”

Later, in an interview with police, Terri painfully recalled the moment she discovered Barnes’ severed head in her son’s closet. She recalled: “I was tidying up his room, packing things away, and found a plastic container in his closet. When I started digging through it, I found a plastic bag. Out of curiosity, I picked it up , felt the weight of it, then noticed it was infested with maggots. I took it to the sink and found it was double bagged. I opened the first bag but could not open the second bag. I immediately called To his father: “You need to come over here and get this over with now. ‘”

Cohee’s parents later called 911 to report the horrific discovery, even admitting to the dispatcher that their son had displayed a disturbing fascination with “death and death.”

Corsi admitted ending Barnes’ life with a kitchen knife and revealed he had been contemplating ending someone’s life for six months.

He further revealed his intention to target homeless people or prostitutes, arguing that their absence would likely go unnoticed.

In another part of the documentary, Cosi recounted the gruesome details of his crimes to investigators, showing no sign of emotion or remorse.

He said: “It was the night of February 27, a full moon, and I thought I could see so clearly why not give it a try, I was in a bad mental state at the time and I had severe depression.

“I was driving around and I saw a shape and I thought ‘oh interesting’. I thought it was a homeless man so I grabbed my knife and put on three layers of gloves because plastic gloves betray them The user because they were too thin, I took the knife, pulled the canvas apart and stabbed him in the neck.

“At first, he was panicking and asked, ‘What are you doing? Why?’ But I just kept stabbing him in the neck,” he recalled to investigators.

He described himself as “growling” and making “animal-like noises” while inflicting wounds on Barnes.

He then chuckled and provided sickening details of how he dismembered the man’s body, before telling investigators the apologetic words, “Sorry, that’s so morbid.”

Corsi appeared eager to reveal the gruesome details of his crime to investigators, showing excitement as he recounted the murder and appearing to enjoy the memory.

Cosi was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole last year for first-degree murder, despite pleading insanity.

He was also found guilty of two counts of tampering with a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Judge Richard Gurley, who is presiding over the case, called it one of the most horrific cases he has encountered in his 37 years in the criminal justice system.
