Earlier today, a joint press conference with Pete Hegseth and Qatar went viral after it initially appeared that the United States had given Qatar the right to build a military base in Idaho.
This would definitely be a bit worrying…
Watch the clip here:
Laura Loomer is about to get weird…
The US and Qatar signed an agreement to establish a Qatari Amiri Air Force training facility at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, for joint training with Qatari F-15 jets and pilots, taking advantage of Qatar’s role in peace talks and pre-emptive defense… pic.twitter.com/3LBJK3LKfU

But Secretary Pete Hegseth himself clarified that Qatar will not have its own base, it will be completely controlled by the United States and it is intended for joint training with allies, something we have done for a long time with many other countries:
Important clarification:
The U.S. military has a long-standing partnership with Qatar, including the collaboration announced today with F-15QA aircraft. However, to be clear, Qatar will not have any base of its own in the United States – nor anything resembling a base. We control the existing base,…

My friend MJTruth had great info on this and I think it’s spot on, so I’ll show you his analysis and explanation:
My thoughts on why Qatar is building a military facility in Idaho:
The US War Department has authorized Qatar to build a training facility for its F-15QA pilots at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho… Is this a good idea?
For starters, it is not a sovereign Qatari base but… https://t.co/9wYR8R17Yw

My thoughts on why Qatar is building a military facility in Idaho:
The US War Department has authorized Qatar to build a training facility for its F-15QA pilots at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho… Is this a good idea?
For starters, it is not a sovereign Qatari base, but an organized training base under US control… which is similar to Singapore’s F-15 training at the same base since 2009, or the training of Dutch F-16 pilots in New Mexico. We also provide training to Qatari military personnel in Florida, specifically at Tyndall Air Force Base
Alliances matter in the Middle East, not just with Israel (finally)
Qatar’s $12 billion F-15QA purchase requires US-based training for compatibility. The infrastructure of Mountain Home is perfect for this.
Say it with me… “Reciprocity”… The US operates Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, home to CENTCOM, which is slated to be expanded in 2024 and is critical to anti-ISIS missions.
Additionally, Qatar played a key role in brokering the Gaza ceasefire, which promoted US security guarantees, strengthening ties with this facility. And this was despite the fact that Netanyahu had attacked inside Qatar, potentially trying to disrupt progress.
The fact is… this is routine for US alliances – think German pilots at Holloman AFB or NATO exercises in Texas. It enhances joint defense, boosts Idaho’s economy, and counters radical proxies within Iran.
The bottom line is that President Trump knows what he is doing.
As always, trust President Trump!
Do you really think he would allow an enemy force to establish a base on American soil?
Not happening – and that’s not the case at all.
Still, some people aren’t convinced:
Train them in Qatar, not here.
Thanks Pete, but I still don’t want Qatari Muslims flying fighter planes on American soil.
Qatar funded Hamas and protected the Hamas leadership in its penthouse.
Hamas had used paragliders for October 7, now they will be able to use fighter planes…

Your thoughts?
Like it?
hate it?
okay with that?
Do you even realize we’ve done this to allies for decades?
