A man was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover and his body was dumped in a drain in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, police said on Wednesday. One of the accused has been arrested, they said.
Mahendra (45) came to Dhanpur on January 29 but did not return home. Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said his family reported him missing and an FIR has been registered in the matter.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Mahendra’s wife Kalmesh was related to Manoj, who was detained by the police. During interrogation, Manoj confessed to the crime and told the police that he and another accused threw the body into the drain, the SP said.
The body was discovered on Tuesday. Manoj has been arrested, but Kamlesh and another accused Vikas Tyagi are on the run. Efforts are on to arrest them, Jardan said.
