Ayodhya, Oct 20 (IANS) On the occasion of Diwali, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday visited a slum area and celebrated the festival by spreading happiness and festive spirit by distributing sweets and gifts among the residents.
Before leaving from Ayodhya, CM Yogi also distributed sweets to about 200 sanitation workers and 50 sailors at Ram Katha Park.
During the visit, the Chief Minister appreciated the cleanliness of the area and wished the people.
Expressing happiness, he said he “felt blessed” to visit the settlement and appreciated the residents for maintaining such cleanliness, calling it the foundation of a healthy life.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, he said, “If the neighborhood is not clean, people will raise questions, but this small colony has set a wonderful example of cleanliness, for which I heartily congratulate you.”
Highlighting the spirit of the festival, he said, “Diwali is a festival of joy and enthusiasm that unites everyone. The lamp of Ayodhya will symbolize light across the world and the sanctity of this place will bring blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.”
He urged people to light lamps in their homes on Diwali, saying that this would bring blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, and also advised them to celebrate safely so that no one gets harmed.
The local residents enthusiastically participated in the festival and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for visiting their locality and making the festival memorable.
His visit not only brought festive cheer but also reinforced the message of cleanliness and unity, he said.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also visited Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya to offer prayers.
CM Yogi also congratulated X, saying, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all of you on the great festival of Diwali, the sacred symbol of truth, eternal righteousness and eternal victory of positivity! The festival of lights is not just a ritual of lighting lamps, but a ray of hope in the soul, a spirit of harmony in the society and a symbol of national resolve.” Resurrection.”
