UP CM says there is a chance to choose development instead of mafia in Bihar elections

Patna, October 29 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing it of promoting ‘jungle raj’ and criminal elements and appealed to the people to vote for development.

Addressing an election rally in Raghunathpur, Siwan, CM Yogi said that the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections are a fight between development and those responsible for the “jungle raj” of Bihar.

He said, “This election is a fight against those who created an identity crisis for Biharis before 2005. Under the double engine government led by Nitish Kumar, Bihar has regained its respect across the country. Today, because of NDA rule, Biharis are respected wherever they go.”

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh accused RJD of encouraging criminal elements by giving tickets in the current elections.

Without taking names, he mentioned former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin and his son Osama Shahab, who are contesting from Raghunathpur on RJD ticket.

CM Yogi said, “People of Siwan are well aware of an acid attack case that took place during the RJD government, which was carried out by a famous strongman leader. Today RJD has given the ticket to his son.”

Drawing parallels between the RJD in Bihar and the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh, he said the two parties are “kin in promoting anarchy”.

“RJD created anarchy in Bihar, SP did the same in Uttar Pradesh. However, in UP bulldozers took action against criminals supported by SP leaders. Only NDA’s double engine government can control such elements,” he said.

Focusing his attention on the Ram temple issue, he said opposition leaders had once questioned the feasibility of constructing the temple, but it was the NDA government which fulfilled the long-standing promise.

Yogi said, “Ram temple in Ayodhya has become a reality. Lord Ram, who lived in a hut for more than 550 years, now lives in a grand temple built under the NDA. Lalu Prasad Yadav committed the sin of stopping the Ram Rath Yatra, but people like him could not stop us from building the temple.”

He further announced that a grand temple of Goddess Sita is being built in Sitamarhi and a Rs 6,100 crore Ram-Janaki corridor will be built to connect Ayodhya and Sitamarhi.

He said, “These people offer chadars on the tombs of Babar and Aurangzeb, while we work for Sanatan Dharma.”

CM Yogi also took a dig at the RJD’s governance slogan, saying: “Before 2005, their slogan was ‘Sabka Saath par Apne Pariwar ka Vikas’ (With all, but development for their own family). Our slogan is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.”

He appealed to the people of Siwan to stop the return of mafia elements and support NDA candidates Vikas Kumar Singh (Raghunathpur) and Vishnudev Paswan (Barauli).

CM Yogi also mentioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s commitment to ‘eliminate Naxalism and Maoism from India by 2026’.

“We don’t need CPI-ML; we need LJP (RV). We want a crime-free Bihar where businesses can grow, industrialists can invest and our mothers and sisters can live without any fear,” he said.
