New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) The UNTCC Chiefs’ Conclave 2025, hosted by the Indian Army from October 14 to 16, 2025, concluded on Thursday with high-level deliberations, solemn ceremonies and reaffirmation of the collective resolve to strengthen UN peacekeeping operations.
President Draupadi Murmu interacted with heads and representatives of UN force contributing countries during a meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Highlighting the positive contribution of Indian peacekeepers, the President commended all the participating countries in their resolve towards lasting peace and prosperity.
He expressed happiness at the coming together of countries at the UN TCC Heads of Conference to collectively develop a practical framework for future peace-keeping operations in a challenging world order and stressed the need to bring together all stakeholders and harness technology to ensure deeper cooperation, enduring friendship and security for UN peacekeepers.
Earlier, in his address, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed the need to realign global peace efforts in line with emerging realities.
Highlighting that the nature of conflicts has changed with the rise of non-State actors and asymmetric warfare, he called for decisions on peacekeeping mandates to be taken in close consultation with all stakeholders, including troop-contributing and host countries.
An interactive session on “Leveraging Technology in UN Peacekeeping” brought together UN TCC Heads and Representatives and 15 industry leaders to explore the role of innovation and indigenous solutions in enhancing operational effectiveness.
The discussions highlighted the potential of emerging technologies to improve situational awareness, logistics and military security and provided opportunities to share and mutually benefit from each other’s capabilities and possibilities.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi held several bilateral meetings with the army chiefs of Burundi, Tanzania, Poland, Ethiopia, Nepal and Uganda.
The discussions focused on strengthening defense cooperation, enhancing interoperability and promoting closer coordination in future peacekeeping missions. These engagements reflect the Conclave’s broader spirit of dialogue, partnership and shared commitment to promote global peace, stability and collective security.
