Patna, Oct 18 (IANS) Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Saturday said all discussions within the NDA regarding the Bihar Assembly elections have been completed “smoothly”, and compared the situation with the opposition grand alliance.

He stressed that due to disagreements over seat sharing in the opposition alliance, the candidates have filed nominations against their own alliance partners.

As Bihar goes to two-phase assembly elections on November 6 and 11, the NDA has finalized its list of candidates, while the grand alliance is grappling with internal conflicts.

Speaking to reporters, Paswan said, “You can all see the atmosphere within the NDA and among the public – how smoothly the NDA has respected all its five partners and successfully completed the negotiations. The nominations of all our 243 candidates have been cleared, and there is no confusion over names, unlike the Grand Alliance, where there is dispute over seats.”

Paswan also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is currently visiting Bihar, to discuss the NDA’s election strategy.

Paswan said, “Today in the meeting with Amit Shah, the strategy to win historic seats was discussed. There is a one-on-one fight going on within the grand alliance, where candidates have filed nominations against candidates from their own alliance.”

Bihar minister Janak Chamar expressed confidence in the NDA’s victory and told IANS, “Everyone in the state knows how the Nitish government has taken Bihar out of jungle raj. Under the government of good governance, everyone feels safe, and the public is clearly in favor of development. Once again in 2025, people will vote in favor of development.”

Former MP Arun Kumar also expressed confidence and said that “NDA will have a resounding victory.”

Speaking to IANS, Kumar said, “People want to give a strong mandate to continue the development started under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. A lot of work is in progress, and hence people want the NDA government to come back to power.”

NDA has formally announced all its candidates for the 243-member Bihar Assembly.

Both Janata Dal (United) and Bharatiya Janata Party have announced 101 candidates, while the remaining seats have been allotted to Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), and Hindustani Awami Morcha (HAM), all of whom have also completed their lists.
