New Delhi, April 4 (PTI) A delegation of the Engineers Federation of India (INDEF) has discussed with Union Ministers CR Patil and Nitin Gadkari and urged the government to implement the Constitution of Engineering Commission like an engineering service rules and Law Commission.
During the meeting, the delegation presented a memorandum, such as notification of Indian services notification (irrigation, power, buildings and roads), already formed by Parliament in 1963, through amendment to the All India Services Act, 1951, as an All India Service (AIS) by the Central Government as an All India Service (AIS), in a statement.
The delegation also urged the government to implement the Constitution of Engineering Commission like Law Commission like a nation, an engineering service rules and others.
Indef also held a meeting of its National Executive Committee on 3 April 2025 and considered important demands and other issues.
The Apex body represents about two lakh engineering officers in the unspecified central and state engineering service associations.
It has identified several major challenges that obstruct timely development of infrastructure in India, including inadequate research and development (R&D) features, overlapping engineering activities, ineffective planning, incompatible processes and appointment of non-technical individuals, which include important engineering roles.
