Bhopal, Nov 18 (IANS) Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti on Tuesday met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and submitted a memorandum approved during the ‘Gau Samvardhan Sankalp Sabha’ organized by a social organization in Bhopal last month.
Later, in a post on Twitter, former Chief Minister Bharti shared that she submitted a memorandum to CM Yadav, which was passed by farmers and cow devotees during an event organized by ‘Mata Beti Bai Social Welfare’ Foundation. Program coordinator Ashok Tripathi also accompanied him.
The firebrand BJP leader, who was the keynote speaker at the event, wrote on Twitter, “I have confidence in (CM) Mohan Yadav that these demands related to cow rearing and conservation will be converted into government policies and implemented.”
Later, she also visited the BJP headquarters in Bhopal and met party state unit chief Hemant Khandelwal and other party leaders and workers present there.
Speaking to media persons, Bharti lauded the decision of the CM Mohan Yadav-led BJP government to scrap the land pooling scheme in the Simhastha (Kumbh) Mela area of Ujjain, saying it shows Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s commitment to “people’s rule”.
“It is good that this policy has been withdrawn. This is not a dictatorial government,” Bharti said in response to a media question at the BJP office.
When she was asked about the purpose of coming to the BJP office, she replied, “I have come to meet my brother Hemant Khandelwal.”
The development came two days after Bharti listed the challenges facing incumbent Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as he completes two years in office in December.
In a post on X, Bharti had said that the main challenge of CM Mohan Yadav is to modernize Madhya Pradesh. He will also have to see that the investment promised in the state actually materializes and creates jobs.
To make Madhya Pradesh the number one state in the country in cow rearing and agricultural products based on cow-derived species, to continuously review the liquor policy of the state, to improve government education and health facilities and to review corruption-free governance, administration and police system.
Throwing light on the challenges, Uma Bharti further said that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is capable of facing all these challenges, that is why the top leadership of BJP has expressed their confidence in him and we all are confident that he will be able to face the challenges before him.
It is noteworthy that Uma Bharti had recently expressed her desire to return to electoral politics and contest the 2029 Lok Sabha elections after being out of active politics for almost a decade.
