UltraTech Cement third quarter results: On Thursday, January 23, UltraTech Cement reported a 16.5% year-on-year fall in standalone profit for the third quarter of FY25. For Q3FY25, the company’s profit after tax (PAT) was $1,434 crore, down 16.53% from profit after tax $Revenue reported in the same quarter last year was Rs 1,718 crore.
The company’s net sales were nearly flat year over year. Standalone net sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2025 were $161.02 billion rupees, an increase of 1.4% $Revenue reported in Q3FY24 was Rs 15,882 crore.
Profit before interest, depreciation and tax (PBIDT) fell 9.3% year-on-year to $2,984 Crores Rs. $3,289 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Taken together, the Aditya Birla Group’s net sales increased by 3% year-on-year to $16,971 crore, profit after tax fell 17.3% year-on-year to $1,470 crore, PBIDT fell nearly 8% to $3,131 Crores.
The company said capacity utilization reached 73% in the quarter. Domestic sales increased by 10% year-on-year. The company added that energy costs fell 13% year-on-year and 4% quarter-on-quarter, mainly due to lower fuel costs.
UltraTech expects sustainable sales growth of 7-8% over the next few years due to the government’s focus on infrastructure and housing projects,
“The government’s focus on infrastructure and housing projects, coupled with rising rural and urban demand, is expected to lead to sustainable volume growth of 7-8%,” the company said.
UltraTech said its expansion plans are on track.
The company said: “As part of its ongoing capacity expansion plan, UltraTech has added an additional capacity of 1.8 mt/year. With the acquisition of India Cements Limited, UltraTech’s cement production capacity has increased to 171.11 mt/year on a consolidated basis. “
“UltraTech will achieve the unique milestone of surpassing 200 MTPA of cement production capacity in the country by the end of FY27 after completion of ongoing expansion projects and acquisition of Kesoram Cement (10.75 MTPA),” the company said.
