Srinagar, June 06: Udhampur-Baramulla Rail link was a “historic moment,” BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Altaf Thakur today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which the project was called a “precious Eid gift” for the people of the union region.
In a statement issued to the press, Thakur said, “Udhampur-Baramulla railway connectivity is only an achievement of engineering, but a symbol of hope, development and national integration. It is actually a historical moment for Jammu and Kashmir.”
He said that the ambitious railway project will revolutionize the journey in the area, promote tourism, and open economic opportunities for remote areas. “This is so far another will for PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to the development and progress of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Thakur praised the project as one of the most important infrastructure achievements in recent times and stated that it would benefit people from all areas of life, especially from far-flung and economically weaker areas.
He said, “PM Modi’s vision of connecting Kashmir to the rest of India through modern transport networks is becoming a reality. The rail link is actually a precious EID gift for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The Udhampur-Baramulla railway line, which undergoes challenging the Himalayan region, is considered an important strategic and developmental initiative, aimed at improving the connectivity and integration of the region with the rest of the country.
